Mariánské Lázně, Egerland

In August 2017, we travelled to the Egerland with a Studiosus group. In this trip, we travelled to Mariánské Lázně, Karlovy Vary, Cheb, Plzeň, Teplá Monastery and the castle town of Loket.

Paris

We last visited Paris in September 2015, including Versailles and Giverny, and Rainer later returned to this fascinating city for a few days.

Lisboa

In May 2022, we enjoyed 10 extensive days in Lisbon. The Portuguese capital on the Tejo river has its own charm that you simply can't escape.

Buenos Aires, Argentina

In October 2016, we travelled intensively and with pleasure with Marga's family for a two-week vacation in Buenos Aires and the north-east of Argentina, including the Iguazu Falls.

Bologna and Emilia Romagna

We discovered Bologna and several cities in Emilia Romagna on a two-week round trip in 2023. Cultural highlights, great landscapes and excellent Italian cuisine were on the programme.

Altmuehltal

On our neighbour's front step and in the middle of Bavaria lies the "Altmuehltal" Nature Park. The River Altmühl runs from its source near Rothenburg ob der Tauber to Kelheim, where it joins the Danube.

Lower Franconia

We are quite familiar with the Lower Franconian region, as Rainer lived in Würzburg for a long time, and we like to take short holidays in this charming area.

Berlin

Berlin is our most frequent travel destination, either privately - such as for my 60th birthday - or as part of frequent congress visits. Thus, Berlin is always worth a visit.

Vienna

Vienna - a mixture of sedate K&K charm and modern open-mindedness - has been a frequent and always beautiful destination for us in the past.

South Tyrol

South Tyrol (Alto aldige in Italian) - especially the Merano area - has become our preferred holiday destination over the last 10 years. Everything is right here,

Venice and Treviso

Venice lies on 118 islands, connected by more than 400 bridges, in the middle of a lagoon. Our recommendation: Live and feast in Treviso, from here explore the cultural Venice.

Naples and Sorrento

In spring 2007, we visited the Gulf of Sorrento and Naples for 14 days. This southern Italian region is very diversified. Here our picture impressions.

London

We got to know London in the summer of 2009 during the Wimbledon tennis tournament. The lively British metropolis has left us with great impressions.

New York City

In September 2011, we were in "Big Apple, the city that never sleeps" for two weeks. Central in Midtown Manhattan, the Hotel Metro was our accommodation

Great Lakes of USA

In 2012, following our visit to Chicago, we took a 10-day tour around Lake Erie and the southern part of Lake Michigan. As in Chicago, Christian, Rainer's nephew, accompanied us.

Regensburg

We are often here because we like Regensburg. The historic city centre on the Danube is well preserved and is considered the largest of its kind in Germany.

Hamburg

We have travelled to Hamburg several times in recent years, most recently four times as part of the DGMSR autumn meetings.

Greifswald, Usedom und Ruegen

We have travelled the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern coast with Greifswald, Stralsund, Ruegen and Usedom in 2012 and 2017 and were quite impressed by its landscape.

Prague

On the occasion of an international congress in October 2007 we visited the "Golden City" for the second time after 1979. The list of sights in cultural Prague is unusually long.

Verona and Padua

In August 2014, our accommodation was in the Albergo Aurora at the Piazza dell'Erbe in the middle of Verona. From the hotel you have a beautiful view of the busy hustle and bustle

Tuscany and Rome

Tuscany and Rome are classic destinations for travellers to Italy. We have also been here a few times. Pleasant in our memories is a watercolour painting course

Sicily

After a few days in Genoa we took a ferry to Palermo to spend our summer holidays 2005 in Sicily. Our hotel on the outskirts of Cefalú was perfect.

Egypt
